Hey,

Me and my friend went backpacking for six weeks. We had a really good time with lots of "ups and downs".
We started in Bangkok, Thailand and traveled the way back to Zhongshan by buses and trains through Kambodia and Vietnam.
The beginning of next year we would like to travel again and get more "Asia experience".
Can anyone recommend a nice place to travel to? Did you gain any experiences and could you share them with us?
thanks,
Josi

Laos is cool and you can bus

Laos is cool and you can bus it back thru Yunnan or go north thru some of the 'stans' and come back thru XinJiang (not for the faint hearted).

New Zealand is certainly one

New Zealand is certainly one place to visit.
New Zealand welcomes everyone with a smile.
And everyone will ask you «How are you dear, today?»
You feel that you aren’t a stranger coming from another planet.
The best way is:
Buy a fly ticket Hong Kong to Auckland. And there pick up the train (the Overland) to Wellington, the capital.
Cross the Cook Strait in the Interislander ferry.
In Picton pick up the Tranzcoast, a train that will leave you in Christchurch. There travel to Greymouth, in the TranzAlpine.
In Greymouth go to an information center they will provide you the best way to travel to South.
Don’t miss Queenstown and Milford Sound.
Take all your time.
And don’t forget check all the time tables before your travel, in certain cases there are only a train per day.
For more information see the New Zealand websites in Internet.
